PRODUCTION SCHEDULER

SUMMARY

The Production Scheduler is responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining efficient production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products that meet customer demand, quality standards, and cost targets. This role serves as the critical link between planning, production, purchasing, and logistics to optimize manufacturing capacity and material availability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer orders, inventory levels, and capacity constraints.
  • Collaborate with the SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) team to align production schedules with demand forecasts.
  • Monitor production order progress, adjust schedules as needed to address equipment downtime, material shortages, or other disruptions.
  • Communicate schedule changes promptly to production supervisors, procurement, and sales teams.
  • Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and recommend process improvements.
  • Ensure that all scheduling decisions support on-time delivery and efficient resource utilization.
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
  • Maintain accurate records in ERP system
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in scheduling and planning processes.
  • Maintain visibility and urgency on pilot run and special project parts through the factory
  • Prepare daily and weekly production performance reports for management review.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and scheduling tools.
  • Effective communication and collaboration across departments.
  • Detail-oriented, with a focus on accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles a plus.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related field or related experience and training. (preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in production planning or scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems for production scheduling.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel parts; reach with hands and arms. The employee must lift and/or move up to 40 pounds as needed.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets. The noise level in the office environment is usually quiet. While performing job duties on the production floor, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles. Hearing and eye protection is required while working on the production floor.
