Director, Network Infrastructure Operational Technologies (OT) - Energy
Location : Chicago, IL - Hybrid Environment - 3 days a week in the office
Salary : 160-210K + 20% Bonus

Must have the following:
Must have a deep OT networking/security infrastructure leadership, Tier 2 lifecycle team management, NERC CIP/NIST/ISO compliance expertise, strong incident response leadership, experience modernizing OT environments, and proven governance-building capabilities. Must sill be able to contribute technically, to guide and continue to advance the team to new technical levels.

Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership

• Provide strategic direction for all OT functions, ensuring security, applications, support, and coordination operate as a cohesive OT program.
• Build and enforce OT governance frameworks, operational standards, and compliance processes.
• Develop multi-year OT upgrade and workforce development plans aligned with business and regulatory needs.
• Lead modernization efforts, security posture uplift initiatives, and infrastructure resilience programs.
• Represent OT leadership in corporate planning, regulatory interactions, and industry forums.

Operational Excellence

• Lead two Tier 2 lifecycle support teams (Networking and Security) responsible for break/fix, maintenance, equipment refresh, and compliance.
• Oversee KPIs, dashboards, and reporting to provide executive visibility into OT performance and risk.
• Ensure seamless handoff from Tier 3 project teams to Tier 2 operations.
• Serve as the senior escalation point for complex OT incidents and drive post-incident improvements.
• Manage departmental budgets and allocate resources to mission-critical priorities.

Collaboration & Governance

• Partner with Enterprise Architecture and Strategy & Planning to align operations with long-term roadmaps.
• Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure solution performance meets enterprise needs.
• Ensure compliance with NERC CIP, NIST, ISO 27001, and other applicable standards.

Requirements:

• 10+ years in network and/or security infrastructure management; 5+ years in leadership.
• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Deep expertise in networking and security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, routers, segmentation, monitoring tools, etc.).
• Proven leadership of operational support teams with lifecycle management, compliance, and incident response.
• Strong understanding of OT regulatory and compliance frameworks (NERC CIP, NIST, ISO 27001).
• Strategic thinker with strong execution skills, strong communication abilities, and proven success influencing senior stakeholders.
• Experience setting enterprise OT standards, governance, and best practices.
