Position Overview:
The IP Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, and implementing IP networks to support MPLS Core, High-Speed Data, Peering, VoIP, and Wireless Backhaul Networks. This individual will generate written engineering documentation to support the installation and configuration of IP Technologies.

Position Responsibilities:
• IP Layer 3 and MPLS-based networking design development and implementation
• Document and outline baseline requirements; develop, test, and certify design for customers' services
• Evaluate Network Vendors (Cisco, CASA, CommScope, Ciena, etc.) router/CMTS OS releases: develop, test, and certify to keep consistent/standardized IOS strategy for the IP Networks
• Document test plan to certify Cisco IOS(s) for Cisco infrastructure such as ASR 99XX, NCS 55XX, NCS 540 and ASR 99XX router(s)
• Design, test and configure IP routing including static and dynamic routing; segment routing knowledge/experience is highly desirable
• Perform network maintenance, and diagnostics work and provide technical support to cross-organizational teams and engineering associates
• Work independently and be able to design, document, and implement IP networks using OSPF and BGP protocols
• Perform other duties, as required, or assigned
Position Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IP Networking, or equivalent degree, required
• 4-6 years of hands-on experience relating to Layer 3 IP networks design and implementation, required
• In-depth knowledge of industry protocols including IP, MPLS, OSPF, ISIS, and BGP
• Working knowledge of Cisco IP Routing platforms: ASR 9912/9922, NCS Routers, etc.
• Ability to learn new technologies, troubleshoot IP and voice networks
• Experience with network tools, network performance design, and analysis
Preferred Requirements:
• MPLS/Segment Routing implementation
• Fiber to the home (PON-based) design/implementation experience
• Layer 4-7 experience, such as content caching, performance monitoring/analysis
• Cisco CCNA, Cisco CCNP, CCIE, or other Network Security certification preferred
