Job Title: Software QA Engineer
Location: Orlando, FL (Hybrid - 3 days onsite / 2 days remote)
Pay Rate: Up to $55/hr
Employment Type: 6-12 Month Contract-to-Hire

Introduction

The client is seeking an experienced Software QA Engineer to support the testing and validation of modern web and mobile applications. This role focuses heavily on automated testing, backend API validation, and ensuring high-quality releases across the full software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on QA experience, is comfortable working in Agile environments, and can collaborate closely with developers, product teams, and stakeholders in a hybrid setting.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in software quality assurance
• Hands-on experience with automated testing tools, including Selenium
• Experience testing web and mobile applications
• Experience validating backend APIs
• Strong knowledge of SDLC methodologies
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Proficiency using Jira for defect tracking and test management
• Ability to work onsite in Orlando, FL three days per week

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Experience contributing to or maintaining automated test frameworks
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and modern QA best practices

• Design, execute, and maintain automated and manual test cases
• Perform functional, regression, and integration testing across web and mobile platforms
• Validate API responses, data integrity, and backend functionality
• Identify, document, and track defects using Jira
• Collaborate with developers and product teams throughout the SDLC
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
• Support release validation and production readiness activities
