About the Job
Are You the One We've Been Praying For?
A Letter to the Landscape Architect Who's Ready for Something Different
Let's be honest for a second.
You didn't spend years studying landscape architecture to design the same boring retaining wall seventeen times. You didn't fall in love with the intersection of art and earth to have every creative idea get value-engineered into oblivion. And you definitely didn't get into this field to watch your designs collect dust in a portfolio while someone else decides what "practical" means.
So here's the real question: What if you could actually design the incredible stuff you see in your head?
What We're Actually Looking For:
We're Cross Creek Landscape Design + Build - a faith-based luxury outdoor living company in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and we're on a mission: Building God's Kingdom, One Backyard at a Time.
We need a Landscape Architect who can:
- Survey luxury properties (we're talking lakefront, golf course, the works).
- Design outdoor spaces in Vectorworks that make people say "wait, we can DO that?"
- Create detailed 3D models that bring visions to life.
- Estimate projects accurately so dreams become reality.
- Come up with incredibly cool stuff that actually gets built.
- must have experience in vectorworx.
- must be a registered landscape architect.
But here's the thing - this isn't just another design job.
What Makes This Different: You'd be joining
Brittany and me (Randy) in building something from the ground up: a world-class design department that doesn't exist yet. We're not hiring you to fit into a machine. We're inviting you to help us
build the machine. Think of it this way: You'd be going from survey data to stunning 3D Vectorworks visualizations to construction-ready plans - and then watching your designs transform into real spaces where families gather, where memories are made, where heaven literally meets earth.
The Tools You'll Use: - Vectorworks for design and modeling.
- LiDAR and drone technology for surveying.
- Your God-given creativity.
- Your hard work and drive.
- Your willingness to let the Holy Spirit design through you.
The Projects You'll Touch: - Custom hardscaping that looks like art.
- Water features that become the heartbeat of a property.
- Outdoor kitchens that rival indoor ones.
- Landscapes that make the neighbors rethink their life choices.
The Schedule: - Monday - Friday (your weekends are yours).
- Fridays are for family.
- Sundays are phone-free sabbaths.
Here's What We Believe:
God loves you. Like, deeply, passionately, completely loves you.
And we believe He's stirring something in your heart right now as you read this. Maybe it's excitement. Maybe it's hope. Maybe it's that quiet whisper that says "this could be it."
Maybe you've been in a season where you've wondered "How long, Lord?" - feeling forgotten in your current role, wrestling with whether there's something more. We've been there too. David wrote in Psalm 13, "How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?" But he didn't stay there. By the end of that same psalm, he declares: "But I have trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation."
Here's what we know for sure:
Following the Holy Spirit's leading in your career is more important than any job you'll ever take - including this one.
So before you apply, before you update your resume, before you do anything else...
Pray about it. Ask God if this is where He's calling you. Ask Him to make it crystal clear. Ask Him to open the door wide if this is His will, or to close it firmly if it's not.
Because here's the truth: We don't just want a landscape architect. We want the
specific person God is sending us. The one He's been preparing. The one who's been waiting for something exactly like this without even knowing it.
The Honest Reality Check: This is a
ground-floor opportunity to build something special:
- You'll work hard (really hard) Monday through Friday.
- You'll collaborate closely with a small, driven team.
- You'll need your Landscape Architecture degree (or equivalent experience that'll blow our minds).
- You'll design for discerning, luxury clients who value excellence.
- You'll see the North Idaho views that'll make you wonder why you ever lived anywhere else.
- You'll be part of a faith-based culture where work-life balance actually means something.
But if you're the right person? If God is calling you here?
This could be the career move that changes everything.So... Is That You? Are you the creative, hardworking, Spirit-led landscape architect we've been praying for?
Are you ready to survey, design in Vectorworks, model, and estimate projects that actually matter?
Are you tired of dreaming small and ready to help us build a design department that glorifies God and transforms lives?
Then let's talk. Take this to prayer. Listen for His voice. And if you feel that unmistakable peace that says "yes," we're ready to meet you.

P.S. - Whether you apply or not, we're praying for you. Praying that God makes your path clear, that He opens the right doors and closes the wrong ones, and that you step boldly into whatever He's calling you toward. You're loved. You're valued. And your best days are still ahead.
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." - Jeremiah 29:11AboutCross Creek Landscape Design & Build Cross Creek started with a promise made on a cold bathroom floor - a commitment to follow Jesus wherever He led, even when the path seemed impossible. What began as one man knocking on doors in Coeur d'Alene with nothing but faith and a borrowed trailer has grown into a $2.5 million luxury landscape design and build firm with offices in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and Spokane, Washington, and plans to expand further. But growth was never the goal. Bringing heaven to earth was.We exist because Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. He rescued our founder from darkness and gave him a vision - not just for a business, but for a life surrendered to obedience. Every project we take on, every client we serve, every decision we make flows from that surrender. This isn't a company that happens to have Christian owners. This is a ministry that designs and builds outdoor living spaces.Today, we transform luxury landscapes along lakefronts and golf courses throughout North Idaho and Eastern Washington, creating places where families gather, memories form, and heaven touches earth. Our work includes custom hardscaping, outdoor kitchens, water features, and complete landscape installations. We're not the biggest firm. We're not trying to be. We're trying to be faithful - to Jesus, to our clients, to our team, and to the craft itself. That means excellence without compromise. Premium materials and craftsmanship. Designs that marry beauty with function. Installations that last generations. But it also means something deeper: treating every project as an act of worship, every client interaction as ministry, and every team member as family bought by the blood of Christ. Our field crews work four 10-hour days, Monday through Thursday, because we respect the physical demands of the work they do. Our office team works Monday through Friday, 9-5. Sundays are sacred. We believe you can build something exceptional without sacrificing everything else that matters. We're looking for people who see this work the way we do - not just as a job, but as a calling. People who take pride in their craft. Who show up with integrity. Who understand that putting their trust and hope in Jesus Christ means obeying Him in all things - including how we work, how we treat people, and how we build. If that resonates, we'd love to talk.Mission: To follow Jesus, and design some very cool stuff along the way.Purpose: Cross Creek Landscape exists to bring Heaven to Earth NOW.Vision: Build a community where everyone has a beautiful and safe place to call home. Our Values:Fervently love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind and strengthLove our neighbors as ourselvesKeep the commandments of GodCarry each other's burdensWorship the Lord aloneProtect each other with prayerCommand the enemy to flee - he is not welcome herewhen you see a need -> Help. Period.
