Introduction
The Department of Health Services (DHS) , Division of Medicaid Services (DMS) is recruiting for the Bureau of Programs and Policy (BPP) Director.
This position has the ability to work remotely up to 5 days per week but may be required to reportto the Madison central office on occasion for certain tasks or meetings. This position can be headquartered at one of our central or regional offices . This schedule may vary based on training or operational need.

Position Summary The BPP Director is responsible for the overall management of the following Medicaid programs: Family Care, Family Care Partnership, PACE (Program of All Inclusive Care for the Elderly) and IRIS (Include, Respect, I Self-Direct). This includes a comprehensive review of existing policy and management structure of the long-term care programs to address critical concerns and develop revisions to program models to ensure cost-effective practices and meet the critical needs of eligible Wisconsin's residents. The Director is responsible for developing and implementing a quality strategy for long term care programs.
Salary Information Pay is up to $62.71 per hour (approximately $130,400 per year) depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits.
Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is classified as a Health Services Manager and is in pay schedule and range 81/01. A 24-month Career Executive trial period is required.
Job Details - All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.
- For positions that allow remote working flexibility, working outside of Wisconsin or in bordering cities will not be allowed except in extremely limited circumstances due to the need to report to an office location in Wisconsin on short notice.
- Employees must have access to secure high-speed internet for remote work option. Mileage reimbursement to the employee's headquarter location is not provided. Remote work flexibility will be discussed in more detail during the interview process.

Qualifications Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following:
- Experience in a supervisory or management role (e.g., managing staff workload including use of workload tracking tools, delegating work responsibilities, hiring, disciplining, completing performance reviews, etc.).
- Management experience in a complex, highly regulated organization (e.g., health care, government, etc.) with a large scope (e.g., statewide, nationwide, etc.).
- Experience with policy development and analysis, including tasks such as planning, administering, and evaluating benefit policy and operational policies for program implementation.
- Experience providing leadership, strategic planning, or oversight of data to deliver on key performance indicators.
Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:
- Experience working with or in Wisconsin's Medicaid programs and services.
- Experience directing policy development and implementation related to Medicaid benefits or programs.
- Experience working with or in the long-term care field.
- Experience in a management role overseeing other supervisors.
