Job Summary

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for coordinating daily warehouse operations, ensuring accurate and efficient handling of incoming and outgoing materials, and supporting the team in meeting production and customer demands. This role serves as the first point of contact for warehouse staff, providing direction, training, and support while maintaining compliance with company policies, safety standards, and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership
    • Assign daily tasks and monitor workflow to meet shipping, receiving, and inventory goals.
    • Train and mentor warehouse associates on best practices, safety, and proper handling of materials.
    • Act as the first point of escalation for employee questions and issues.
  • Operations Management
    • Oversee receipt, storage, picking, packing, and shipment of materials.
    • Ensure proper labeling, documentation, and accuracy of inventory transactions.
    • Conduct cycle counts and support annual physical inventory.
    • Collaborate with production, purchasing, and logistics to resolve discrepancies.
  • Safety & Compliance
    • Enforce safe operating practices, including forklift operation and PPE usage.
    • Conduct daily safety checks and immediately address hazards or violations.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA, ITAR/EAR, and quality requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Recommend process improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and safety.
    • Support Lean initiatives, 5S, and other operational excellence efforts.
    • Assist leadership with reporting and tracking key performance metrics.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in warehouse, shipping/receiving, or logistics; 1+ year in a lead or supervisory role preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management systems, and ERP transactions.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and related equipment (certification preferred).
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and coach a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with ERP or WMS systems.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance, and stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Regular bending, stooping, climbing, and reaching required in a warehouse environment.
