Software Engineer II – M&A Network Inventory

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Software Engineer for M&A Network Inventory is responsible for the integration, development, and migration of systems, network inventory and customers into Oracle MetaSolv Solutions in support of mergers, integrations, acquisitions and automations. Support activities will consist of creation of scripts, PL/SQL functions, and appropriate APIs to support the migration and integration of customers, network elements, automation enhancements and migrated systems. This role requires a good attitude and work ethic, dedicated towards supporting their coworkers in their daily tasks in configuring and supporting our large optical network. A good candidate will be detail-oriented with good communication skills. Extra consideration will be given for a strong understanding of Oracle's MetaSolv application, familiarity with relational databases (primarily Oracle), and general SQL knowledge.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Strong communication and business relationship skills.
• Know how to troubleshoot technical issues with database and application servers.
• Ability to support and troubleshoot complex flow, orchestration, and decomposition of orders.
• Should be a strategic thinker to influence the senior leadership to adapt and drive efficiency improvements.
• Create and maintain documentation for network automation processes and procedure
• Work closely with network engineers and operations teams to understand their needs and requirements
• Identify opportunities to improve network automation processes and drive efficiency
• All other duties as assigned

JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or 2+ years working experience
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand automation requirements and implement effective solutions
• 2+ years of experience with SQL queries
• Exposure to PL/SQL development and support.
• Linux experience
• Software Development Experience in a scripting language – preferably Python or Perl
• Familiarity with Oracle's MetaSolv application and its data schema
• Telecom industry experience.
