Litigation Attorney

Description:

Oxford Solutions is partnering with a legal services organization to hire a Litigation Attorney for a contract-to-hire opportunity based in the Laurel, MD area. This role follows a hybrid schedule, with 2-3 days onsite per week. The firm is open to attorneys without foreclosure experience and will provide training in this area.

This position is well suited for an attorney with early-career litigation experience who is interested in developing expertise in foreclosure, bankruptcy, and creditor-side legal matters.

Responsibilities

  • Represent financial institutions and lending organizations in litigation matters, including foreclosure, bankruptcy, eviction, and REO proceedings
  • Manage cases from initiation through resolution, with guidance and training provided for foreclosure-specific work
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and related legal documents
  • Appear in court for hearings and proceedings as required
  • Conduct legal research and provide clear, timely analysis and recommendations
  • Review case documentation, including filings, liens, and related records
  • Collaborate with internal legal teams to ensure effective case management and compliance
Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active member in good standing of the Virginia Bar (required)
  • Minimum of 1 year of litigation and bankruptcy experience
  • Foreclosure experience is not required; training will be provided
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple matters in a deadline-driven environment
  • Professional communication skills and attention to detail

Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications, and includes comprehensive benefits package.
