Location: Phoenix, AZ 85034
Pay Rate: $26.65/hour (paid weekly)
Schedule: Hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 WFH) M-F 9am- 5:30pm
Start Date: ASAP, pending onboarding completion
Contract Length: 12-months, with potential to extend or convert to full-time depending on business need, performance, attendance

Overview
The Business Control Specialist ensures internal control discipline and operational excellence within a Line of Business (LOB) or Enterprise Control Function (ECF). This role provides analytical and administrative support for processes and tools, driving adherence to enterprise standards and supporting quality assurance initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Execute internal control and quality assurance processes by gathering and organizing data to identify issues and recommend improvements.
  • Perform accurate data entry from multiple sources into loan systems; support account setup and loan servicing (commercial/wholesale lending preferred).
  • Identify and escalate quality assurance findings promptly; communicate results clearly and professionally.
  • Drive remediation efforts, support process improvements, and influence change across teams in compliance with regulations.
  • Utilize technology tools effectively; demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office and multiple systems for validation.
  • Collaborate across teams, maintain compliance with laws and company policies, and assist with audits, regulatory exams, and governance reporting.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Expertise in Controls Management, Risk Management, and Quality Assurance.
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to work with multiple systems.
  • Effective written communication and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of loan structures, agreements, and credit regulations.
  • Experience in data management and project management is required.
