TYPE: Contract
LOCATION: 100% Remote (HQ is near Norristown, PA)
ONSITE/REMOTE/HYBRID: Remote
START DATE: January 2026

The Project Analyst provides operational andanalytical support to Project Managers by managing the planning, tracking, and financial oversight functions required for successful project delivery. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate project schedules, monitoring labor and costs, analyzing variances, and supporting portfolio-level financial processes. The Project Analyst works closely with project teams to ensure plans remain current, reporting is accurate, and portfolio governance requirements are met. As needed, the role may assume ownership of select projects to support departmental capacity.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze cost deviations, including rework, and assist in determining root causes and corrective actions
  • Coordinate with project team members to collect progress updates and ensure schedules reflect current status
  • Track actual effort against planned labor and update schedules using time and labor reporting data
  • Document and maintain project assumptions, constraints, and dependencies in collaboration with Project Managers
  • Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules, including tasks, dependencies, milestones, and deliverables, using Microsoft Project
  • Perform financial monitoring activities including budget tracking, cash flow analysis, and variance identification
  • Step in to lead or manage projects when needed to support business priorities
  • Prepare and distribute recurring project status reports for leadership and stakeholders
  • Produce monthly variance reporting for the division, including charts and visual summaries using Excel
  • Support funding request development and documentation for project approvals
  • Work with Project Managers to improve forecast accuracy by analyzing trends and underlying drivers of budget variance
  • Partner with assigned Project Managers to support projects from initiation through completion
  • Ensure all project documentation and reporting aligns with established portfolio standards and governance processes
  • Assist with portfolio financial activities such as monthly close, quarterly re-forecasting, and labor tracking

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Demonstrated ability to support multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project (minimum 5 years across multiple versions)
  • Strong understanding of work breakdown structures and established project management practices, including PMI-based methodologies
  • Proven ability to identify project variances and collaborate with teams to understand contributing factors
  • Experience defining, sequencing, and estimating project activities
  • Background in developing and refining schedule- and cost-based estimates
  • Comfortable asking detailed, clarifying questions to assess project health and progress
  • Extensive hands-on experience building and maintaining project schedules in Microsoft Project (assessment required)
  • High attention to detail with a focus on consistency and accuracy across multiple projects
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint for executive presentations, funding requests, and status updates
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills across cross-functional teams
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookup functions (minimum 5 years overall experience)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting is preferred
