MRI Technologist
Position Summary
Operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images used by physicians in the diagnosis and treatments of pathologies.
Responsibilities
• Selects appropriate imaging techniques and operates console and peripheral hardware; enters and monitors patient data, transfers images electronically
• Performs a variety of tasks
• Works under general supervision
• A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required
• Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
• Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications
• Associates Degree (AA) or equivalent from a college or technical school in Radiologic Technology OR equivalent combination of education and experience
• 2 years related experience in imaging field
• A.R.R.T. Registration in Radiography required and MRI registry required within 18 months of hire, or current ARMRIT certification
• BLS required
Working Conditions
• Must be able to lift or move up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to maintain a standing position
• Typical equipment used in a clinical job
• Must be able to stoop, crouch or bend
• Must be able to push, pull, or transport heavy equipment
