Senior Maintenance Coordinator

Position Summary
The Senior Maintenance Coordinator is a senior engineer responsible for developing, organizing, and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of equipment and facilities. This role improves maintenance productivity by preparing detailed job plans, managing work orders, ensuring parts availability, and supporting continuous improvement of maintenance processes.
Responsibilities
• Develops detailed job plans for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance tasks
• Creates weekly and long-term maintenance schedules based on work priority, labor availability, and equipment downtime windows
• Coordinates with maintenance supervisors, operations, and engineering to optimize work execution
• Reviews incoming work requests and converts them into properly scoped work orders
• Prioritizes work orders according to safety, production impact, and asset criticality
• Ensures accurate documentation of job instructions, required tools, materials, and estimated labor hours
• Identifies required parts, tools, and equipment for each job
• Works closely with the storeroom to ensure timely availability of materials
• Maintains accurate bills of materials (BOMs) and asset information in the CMMS
• Analyzes maintenance data to identify trends, equipment reliability issues, and opportunities for improvement
• Supports development of preventive and predictive maintenance strategies
• Recommends process improvements to increase maintenance efficiency and reduce downtime
• Ensures all job plans follow safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and regulatory standards
• Maintains accurate documentation for audits, compliance, and internal quality systems
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Competent to meet age-specific needs of the unit assigned
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Technical diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, or related field preferred
• Minimum 5 years' experience in maintenance planning, maintenance coordination, or similar technical role required
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, or industrial equipment systems
• Experience with a CMMS
• Ability to read technical drawings, equipment manuals, and schematics
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Office or equivalent tools
