Job Overview

Boyds J and C Construction is hiring a dependable and hardworking Civil Construction Laborer to join our growing field team. In this role, you'll assist with essential tasks on utility and sitework projects, including grading, trenching, pipe laying support, and general site maintenance. This is a hands-on position that plays a vital role in keeping our projects moving safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities

• Assist with general labor tasks on civil construction job sites
• Perform raking, shoveling, and material handling duties
• Help set grade and assist in preparation of work areas
• Support the crew in laying pipe, trench work, and backfilling
• Maintain clean and safe work zones at all times
• Operate hand tools and small equipment under supervision
• Follow directions from foremen and equipment operators
• Adhere to all safety protocols and company standards
• Perform other duties as assigned to support successful project delivery

Qualifications

• Prior construction experience preferred, especially in civil or underground utilities
• Ability to perform physical labor in outdoor environments and various weather conditions
• Reliable transportation to job sites and punctual attendance
• Willingness to travel for out-of-town projects as needed
• Strong work ethic, team player mentality, and positive attitude
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
