Summary
Senior Maintenance Operator - Sheriff's Office Facilities

Position Overview

Under general supervision, the Senior Maintenance Operator is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of multiple Sheriff's Office facilities, including:

  • Sheriff's Office Main Campus
  • Jail Facility
  • Office of Emergency Management
  • Sheriff's Office North Campus
  • Central Dispatch Building
  • Search & Rescue Building
  • Marine Boathouse

Compensation & Benefits
  • Hourly Wage: $23.25 - $27.61 (DOE)

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of general building maintenance tasks:
    • Electrical
    • HVAC
    • Carpentry
    • Construction
    • Plumbing
  • Conduct routine inspections, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance
  • Ensure all safety protocols and codes are followed
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests across all facilities

Ideal Candidate Traits
  • Positive, solution-oriented attitude
  • Broad skill set in facilities maintenance
  • Comfortable working within secured environments (around inmates)
  • Flexible availability for varied work hours or emergency calls
  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and in teams

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 5 years (60 months) of relevant experience/training, or a combination of education and experience
  • Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one; must maintain insurance
  • Successful completion of a comprehensive background check (including polygraph)
