Base pay range

$112,750.00/yr - $186,550.00/yr

Responsibilities

• Researching laws and preparing legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda.
• Rendering opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department.
• Preparing and handling pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions and examinations before trial, and defending by trial or dispositive hearing as assigned.

Qualifications

• 2-6+ years of experience in litigation on insurance/defense and/or personal injury (REQUIRED).
• Juris Doctor degree (REQUIRED).
• Admission to the California Bar (REQUIRED).
• Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in California and meet licensing requirements including mandatory CLE where applicable.
• Must be able to travel as required (to attend trials, hearings, depositions, management meetings and conferences).
• Must be able to document files in a clear, concise, professional written manner for customers, clients, co-workers and other employees of the organization.
• Must be able to follow complex instructions, resolve conflicts or facilitate conflict resolution, and have strong organization and multi-tasking skills.
• Must be able to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information.

Preferred Qualifications

• Civil litigation experience.
• Insurance defense-related litigation experience.
• Ability to communicate professionally in person, by telephone and in writing.
