Reporting to the Sr. Financial Operations Manager, the Authorization Manager will be a crucial part of the Financial Operations organization and will work closely with our Verification of Benefits and Insurance AR team, partnering closely to propose process and product changes to ensure patients have the necessary authorizations for care. As we contract with new payers and add new plans, many require authorizations and you will help develop this new function for Rula. Obtaining authorizations is a critical front-end operation for Rulas revenue cycle, and this candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and honing this function.
5+ years of experience working in health insurance / payer (commercial/private and government), reimbursement, and a deep understanding of revenue cycle management
Expertise building processes and utilizing tools to drive optimization and efficiency
Demonstrated ability in applying structure, cross-functional partnership, prioritization, and effective communication to solve complex problems across the organization
Experience managing offshore and/or onshore teams with direct reports

1+ years of experience in a high-growth start-up environment
Technical savviness and fluency with tools such as Google Suite, Zendesk, Salesforce, EHRs, or similar platforms
Moderate analytical proficiency to comfortably use data to monitor operations, understand trends, and propose recommendations
Prior experience overseeing and managing a prior authorization process
