Loader Operator

Description:

We are seeking a skilled Loader Operator to join our team in Idaho. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating loaders, performing material handling, loading trucks, and managing stockpiles. The Loader Operator will report directly to the Project Foreman.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate loaders to perform tasks such as loading trucks, moving materials, and managing stockpiles.
  • In addition to loader operation, the employee may be required to operate other types of equipment as needed to support project requirements.
  • Interpret project plans and specifications to ensure accurate material handling and placement.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on equipment.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with other team members to meet project deadlines and objectives.

Scope of Work

The Loader Operator will perform a variety of tasks critical to the project, including:
  • Loading Trucks: Efficiently load trucks with materials such as soil, rock, and aggregates for transport to designated areas.
  • Material Handling: Move materials around the site to support construction and operational activities.
  • Stockpile Management: Organize and maintain stockpiles of materials for easy access and inventory control.
  • Site Cleanup: Clear debris and waste materials from work areas to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Snow Removal: Clear snow from roads and work areas during winter months to ensure safe operations.
  • Attachment Operation: Use various loader attachments (e.g., buckets, forks, grapples) for specialized tasks.
  • Grade Assistance: Assist in rough grading and leveling tasks as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum of five years of experience operating loaders and other material handling equipment.
  • Proven experience as a loader operator in civil construction projects.
  • Proficiency in operating various types of loaders.
  • Strong understanding of material handling techniques and stockpile management.
  • Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Living Arrangements and Shift Schedule

This position is based in Idaho, at a remote location. Employees will reside in a camp at the project site during their shifts. The shift schedule is 19 days on and 9 days off, with two of the 19 days being paid travel days. The company will provide transportation to and from the project site for both on- and off-shift rotations. Additionally, all meals will be provided at a catered cafeteria located at the camp, and employees will have access to showers and laundry services.

Safety and Compliance

The job site is monitored by both OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration). All employees will receive comprehensive training to obtain the necessary certifications for their specific role, work location, and type of work. This training is part of the companys commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move items up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move items up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
