Itron is seeking a Director of Product Management - Grid Management to join our team. As a leader in optimizing distribution network capacity, we're driving the integration of distributed energy resources while enhancing grid reliability, outage response, and distribution operations and planning. This role is pivotal to delivering high-value business outcomes, achieving revenue growth and profitability across product lines, and establishing Itron as a recognized industry leader in differentiated grid applications.

The Director of Product Management will collaborate cross-functionally with senior executives and key contributors across Sales, Technical Sales, R&D, Service Delivery, Networks BU, and Marketing, as well as engage directly with customers and partners at all levels.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Growth and profitability for grid management services line of business.
  • Services segment including outage, grid reliability, failure analysis, power quality, grid planning and related analytics, optimization and control outcomes leveraging Itron's differentiated Distributed Intelligence technology.
  • Established global product lines with back-office analytics for the same target segments.
  • Line of business leadership includes scope of all strategy, product management and product marketing deliverables for these product lines.
  • Whole product definition, go-to-market and positioning.
  • Driving product portfolio adoption identifying of customer opportunities, defining go-to-market, align channel with solutions, collaborate with sales and marketing to close bookings.
  • Support technology trade-off management through PLC and NPI process.
  • Ensure product level margin (PE) and customer satisfaction through lifecycle.
  • Application platform strategy, roadmap and execution resulting in industry leadership for utility information use cases.
  • Supports and times delivers training of internal and external customers about products, services and roadmaps.
  • Resolution of conflicting priorities between departments to achieve best case outcomes.
  • Researches competitive market landscape, product best practices.
  • Develops competitive positioning, case studies, presentations and related collateral to position the Itron offering.
  • Participates as spokes person for the product line at trade shows and conferences.
  • Collaborate with Sales Enablement and Product Management in helping them understand our customer's challenges, what they are spending money on and what outcomes-related solutions can help solve their problems.
  • Support analysis, development and support day-to-day partner strategy with Product Management, Partnerships, and Sales teams.
  • Decisions that have significant bottom line and growth implications for the company.
  • Decision making for each product line roadmap, pricing, go-to-market, messaging and positioning.
  • Business forecast and commercial risks and mitigations for product line and segment level.
  • Application platform strategy, roadmap, partnerships, leadership and scope.
  • Coaching and mentoring of team.
  • Leading trade-off decisions, escalations and problem resolution.
  • Support prioritization of portfolio and bundling operational support for line of business.

Required skills & experience:

  • 12+ years of experience developing businesses, building business cases, interacting with customers, doing product management, and/or developing strategic plans.
  • Master's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
