About the Position
Set neonatal to adult patients up on CPAP and BIPAP therapies remotely.
Provide instruction on use of equipment and education on respiratory disease state.
Schedule all patient equipment set ups, follow ups, mask refits, etc.
Keep detailed call logs of all phone communication, phone call attempts, and scheduled appointments.
Instruct patients thoroughly on use of all Respiratory Equipment.
Enter patient data into CPAP compliance tracking program.
Follow up on patient progress, work to increase patient compliance.
Assist with PAP patient management, including helping patients after initial setups with basic questions and troubleshooting.
Manage and adjust machines virtually (CPAP/BIPAP) as needed for patient comfort and compliance.
Handle patient phone calls about their respiratory devices, addressing questions on devices ranging from Oxygen concentrators to Ventilators.
Participate in vent patient management for established vent users, ensuring their ongoing needs are met.
Assist in same-day virtual discharges for BIPAP/CPAP patients in collaboration with the hospital services team.
Monitor incoming faxes for pressure changes and respond accordingly with necessary adjustments.
What You Have to Offer
Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program, required.
Respiratory Therapist license in New York state, required.
Experience with telehealth or remote patient monitoring preferred.
Excellent communication and technology skills.
Reliable high speed internet and private HIPPA compliant remote work environment.
Friendly, warm personality.
Motivated with a goal of becoming a long-term asset within the organization.
One year in DME, preferred.
