Department: Operations Reports To: Shared Services VSM

FLSA Status: Exempt Travel Requirements: None

Work Schedule: Swing Shift (Mon-Thur; 1PM-11:30PM) Base Location: Hayden, ID

Pay Range: $60,000 - $73,000 annually (includes shift differential)
Actual compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Value Stream Supervisor will report to the Shared Services Value Stream Manager and plays a vital role in optimizing the operations and performance of our composite manufacturing value stream. overseeing and optimizing the value stream process to ensure efficient and effective operations. This role is a vital link between the production team, engineering, quality control, and management to streamline the manufacturing process, drive continuous improvement, and maximize customer value. The Value Stream Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day activities of the production process to ensure efficiency, quality, and adherence to schedules.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Report to the Shared Services Value Stream Manager and collaborates closely to align goals, objectives, and strategies for the value stream.
  • Oversee and supervise the operations of the value stream, ensuring a smooth flow of materials, resources, and information throughout the production process.
  • Function in a capacity Supervisory role, coordinating and managing the activities of the value streams' production team to achieve production targets and meet customer requirements.
  • Work closely with VSM to maintain accuracy of ERP system configuration i.e., Bill of Materials, Routers, Labor Tracking, Daily Balancing and Quality Records.
  • Implement and maintain lean manufacturing principles, such as value stream mapping, waste reduction, and standardized work, to optimize operational efficiency and minimize costs.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the performance of the value stream, identify areas for improvement, and take proactive measures to address any issues or bottlenecks.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts within the value stream, fostering a culture of problem-solving, employee engagement, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Train, mentor, and develop the skills of team members to enhance their technical competencies and ensure a capable and motivated workforce.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards within the value stream, taking necessary actions to mitigate risks and maintain product integrity.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain, to optimize value stream performance, resolve interdepartmental issues, and drive overall business success.
  • Assist in the execution of Standard Work and develop SOPs for Operations associated processes.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and perform under minimal supervision to attain results as well as process enhancements.
  • Assist Shared Services Value Stream Manager in evaluating 5-why root cause evaluation and documentation of countermeasures.
  • Develop relationships and collaborate between other value streams, VSMs, shops, and sites to fully utilize resources and expertise.
  • Lead with, and instill, a sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Work with Shared Services Value Stream Manager to ensure entire team staff are properly trained, resourced, supplied, and managed to attain strategic objectives.
  • Report out to Shared Services Value Stream Manager on a regular basis to ensure they can report to executive management and the board monthly and/or quarterly.
  • Provide regular reports on value stream performance, progress, and improvement initiatives to the Operations Director and other stakeholders.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, operations, or equivalent experience, is preferred.
  • Experience: Proven experience in composite manufacturing. Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role in manufacturing
