Overview

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Vice President of Business Development to oversee the development and execution of the companys growth strategy as related to new acquisitions in the Central and Pacific NW regions of the U.S. Reporting directly to the CEO, the VP of Business Development will identify, source, evaluate and execute acquisitions. This opportunity is ideal for someone who has business development experience in the independent dealer channel of the Fire Alarm and/or Fire Protection industry, and is ready to assume ownership of an important leadership role, while being part of a vibrant national organization.

Responsibilities
  • Lead Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) sourcing strategy and execution, direct engagement of M&A targets, Letter of Intent negotiation, and execution.
  • Conduct and present research on new potential acquisition targets.
  • Work through a variety of channels to source acquisitions including Sciens network, industry OEMs, buy side brokers, private equity firms and investment bankers.
  • Maintain a database of opportunities to include information on individual companies, activity logs and action plans.
  • Coordinate with key departments to ensure a successful closing and initial transition for newly acquired companies and their employees.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations describing the key attributes of growth opportunities and target acquisitions.
  • Work collaboratively with finance team to prepare and analyze financial models for potential acquisitions and growth opportunities.
  • Prepare periodic status reports for CEO, executive team and Sciens board.
  • As needed, travel across the assigned territory sourcing opportunities and meeting with perspective acquisition targets.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of leading an independent dealer channel.
  • 20+ years in sales or business development roles in the fire alarm industry.
  • Extremely strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • In-depth understanding of an acquisition process, including within the fire alarm and security space.
  • Demonstrated success working both independently and in highly collaborative environments.
  • Excellent presentation skills essential, including board level.
  • Extensive fire alarm and security network of contacts.
  • Proven ability to quickly identify a large volume of deal targets and also fill an M&A leads pipeline.
  • Demonstrated success as a high-volume deal closer.
  • Exceptional analytical, strategic, and critical thinking skills.
  • Deep experience and independent ability to prepare M&A financial models analyzing potential deal investments.
  • Adept at using a variety of M&A research database tools.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
