Supervisor Sterile ProcessingPosition Summary:The role involves direct oversight of sterilization and reprocessing operations, ensuring surgical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, disinfected, and sterilized for safe use across a healthcare system. It supports both internal hospital departments and external clinic/surgical sites. This is a mid-to-senior level supervisory role ideal for someone with strong experience in sterile processing, leadership capabilities, and a focus on quality control and compliance. The position emphasizes a blend of technical knowledge, team management, and administrative responsibility.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport Roles: Provide reprocessing support for operating rooms, nursing units, outpatient surgery centers, and physician clinics.Leadership & Administration:Oversee daily operations, staffing, and scheduling.Develop and update departmental policies and procedures.Participate in hiring, disciplinary actions, and performance evaluations.Quality Assurance:Conduct and document audits.Ensure QA documentation is maintained.Equipment & Instrumentation:Manage repair and replacement of instruments.Assist in capital equipment purchases.Oversee instrument tracking systems.Budget & Compliance:Maintain departmental budget.Attend relevant meetings/committees.Ensure compliance with industry standards (AAMI, AORN).Other: Expected to be dependable and capable of meeting the age-specific needs of patient units served.
