Base pay range

$95,800.00/yr - $129,348.00/yr

Position Overview

As a Claims Director within the Arch Insurance Claims organization, you will be responsible for leading delivery of key analytical insights, building dashboards and automating reports to serve all layers of the Claims organization and working closely with other department Business Analysts. This high visibility role has direct exposure to senior leaders across Arch Insurance. Your efforts will have a high impact on delivering performance metrics to the Claim organization to facilitate achieving our growth and profitability targets. This role reports to the Manager of Claims Analytics and is an individual contributor position.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Manage a small team of Property Claim handling staff with varying levels of experience including Executive General Adjusters, Senior Claims Specialists, and Claims Specialists.
  2. Provide claim authority and guidance on specific claims in the Middle Market claim portfolio.
  3. Establish and manage a calibrated claim quality review program for Property claims.
  4. Maintain monthly reports of large loss activity for dialogue with key Underwriting stakeholders.
  5. Prepare quarterly reports for Claim, Actuary, and Underwriting stakeholders.
  6. Ensure compliance with current regulatory requirements related to Property Claims.
  7. Develop and coordinate training for staff on relevant technical claim handling issues.
  8. Have viable and tested CAT plans; conduct annual review and update as necessary.
  9. Partner with Underwriting on product development initiatives for new programs or emerging issues.
  10. Collaborate with Claims management handling other lines of business to present a comprehensive view to stakeholders.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent insurance industry designations/experience.
  2. 10-15 years of experience managing property claims supporting Commercial accounts.
  3. Experience handling Commercial Property claims, including Equipment Breakdown and Builders Risk.
  4. Proven leadership in Commercial Property Claim teams.
  5. Ability to present to senior management and develop team priorities.
  6. Experience in policy review and development.
  7. Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  8. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and data analysis tools like Power BI.
  9. Adjuster licensing in applicable states.
  10. Willingness to travel approximately 10%.

Note: The salary range is as of the posting date and may be adjusted based on various factors. The position is incentive eligible.
